Mrs. Stinson's Class

I was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in 1965.  I have two wonderful, older sisters. Sadly one of them has already gone on to be with our Lord. We miss her very much but know she is always with us, watching over us. My family moved to Naples, Florida when I was 2 years old. 

 

After high school I went to nursing school and eventually became a renal technician. In 1994 I made a career change to something more cheery and decided to go back to school to become a teacher. I worked as a teacher aide and as an In School Suspension leader at an Elementary School in Naples, Florida for 6 years, while attending college classes in the evenings. I graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with my Elementary Education Bachelor degree in 2000 and got my first teaching position that same year as a 4th grade teacher in Naples, Florida.

 

In 2004 I moved from Naples, Florida to Tellico Plains, Tennessee. I was hired to fill a long term interim teaching position at TPES in their K/1 multi-aged classroom. In 2005 I got a long term teaching position at TPJHS as their 6th grade Math teacher. In 2014 I needed a change and I transferred to TPES and joined their awesome 4th grade team where I've been happily teaching ever since.

 

Besides my love for teaching I've always had a deep passion for animal rights and helping any animal in need. I believe all of God's creatures are important and deserve respect and compassion; human and animal. My favorite motto is, "When life gives you lemons, make lemonade!" Always find the positive!!
