Mrs.Kesley-Second Grade

Hello!
My name is Makenzie Kesley, and I’m so excited to be part of this wonderful school community! I graduated from Central High School of McMinn County in 2020 and from South College in Knoxville in 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (K–5).

I was born and raised in McMinn County and spent much of my childhood visiting Tellico, where I quickly fell in love with the area’s beauty and small-town charm. After high school, I married my high school sweetheart in 2022, and together we’ve built our life here surrounded by family, friends, and the outdoors we love so much.

I began my teaching career in 2024 and am currently teaching 2nd grade—which has quickly become my favorite grade to teach! I love watching my students grow in confidence and curiosity each day, and I strive to make our classroom a place where learning feels exciting, safe, and full of discovery.

Outside of the classroom, you’ll usually find me fishing, hiking, camping, or spending quality time with my family. Whether I’m exploring nature or planning creative lessons, I always aim to bring joy and passion into everything I do.
